One-Drum Rhythms brings the traditional Highlife Jazz/ Afrobeat music genre that originated in Ghana early in the 20th century. It uses the melodic and main rhythmic structures of traditional Akan and Kpanlogo music.

Abass grew under the instruction of his uncle, Master drummer, anthropologist and researcher in the field of traditional music and dance.
in 2012 I had an opportunity to work with the Royal Shakespeare Company production of Julius Caesar.
From the past 12 years I have been working with the legendary CREAM drummer
Ginger Baker, we have played in Jazz Venues and festivals around the globe, also I have done several clinics with him. which we are on tour at the moment.

I have toured extensively since then. I had been involved in many innovative performances, recordings, TV appearances and educational projects.
My educational workshop invite people of all ages and abilities to personally experience the complexity and dynamism of African music and dance through participation in residencies, workshops, lectures and demonstrations.
I currently live in the UK and work full time as a musician, by doing Authentic African music all the way to Jazz Level.
