The Organisation's purpose: "To advance the education of the public in the arts, history and culture of African music, in particular, but not exclusively, through the provision of educational workshops and performances"
One-Drum Foundation is currently working on its flagship project; "Drumming Against Knives" aimed at vulnerable young people at risk of involvement in gangs and knife crime. The aim is to set up free African drumming workshops in Hackney, London, after school and at weekends for the local communities to learn African drumming. African drums will be provided for everyone to have a go. The drumming circles will be as inclusive as possible because nobody needs to feel left out. African drumming is traditionally a community activity where parents, carers, grandparents and friends all join in to learn with their younger generation.
One-Drum Foundation welcomes all help, support and donations and in particular needs the following urgently:
One-Drum Foundation 1185202 is registered with the UK Charity Commission, regulated by the Fundraising Regulator and registered with HMRC for Gift Aid eligibility.
